Located just a few minutes from Lake Tekapo township, is the ultimate snow sport destination Round Hill. Round Hill ski fields were established in 2001 as a dedicated ski field ‘For Mum, Dad and the Kids’.

The field has gentle slopes, good snow cover and long undulating runs to ensure enjoyable skiing and snowboarding for all ages.

Skiers and snowboarders who like to get ‘ big air’ over jumps, rollers and box rails are catered for, but there is no scope for extreme descents on this smooth-topped dome. The ski fields location at the south end of the Two Thumb Range in the Mackenzie Country guarantees superb mountain views, including stunning vistas of Mt Cook and Lake Tekapo.

There is also a beginner’s poma lift on the lower slopes where the gentle gradients are very safe for first timers. Ski and snowboard hire is available on the field. Round Hill has built excellent base facilities with an international ski and snowboard school, snow tubing lift and a comfortable day lodge.  These popular tourist attractions are situated on the lakeshore.
