Cardrona and its Ski Slopes are some of the best the NZ Ski Fields has to offer, with a vertical rise of 390m and a terrain of 320 hectares. The average annual snow fall at Cardrona is 2.7 metres. Lift passes and packages are available. Get to the top of the mountain safely with 2 quad chairlifts, 1 quad express chairlift, 3 magic learner lifts and 1 platter beginner lift with a lift capacity of 7800 people per hour.
Encompassing three valleys Cardrona is suitable for all visitors from beginners through to the experienced. Cardrona is situated just 57 kilometres from Queenstown, and takes approximately an hour to make the journey. The facilities also have a snow shop, full rental services, medical centre and alpine accommodation which is very limited and needs to be booked a long time in advance. Wanaka is the nearest town with good accommodation. Many skiers choose to stay in Queenstown accommodation and drive to the snow each day or use the regular shuttle bus service.
